Privacy Policy

Soothe takes your privacy very seriously. Its developer does not want to collect identifying information and designs Soothe to avoid it wherever possible.

What we collect and why

  • Account metadata: When you first use Soothe, an anonymous user account is created with a timestamp of when you started. This account may be linked to your device to prevent abuse and enable core functionality.

  • Feature-specific data: When you create content that is part of the core experience of the app (such as a request or reply), that data is stored in order to serve it to you and other users.

  • Support interactions: When you submit a report or contact Soothe via email, a record is kept. This may include your email address so we can respond and reference past correspondence.

  • Analytics and errors: We collect anonymized and aggregated data related to app usage and crashes to improve stability and performance. See 3rd-party services used for details.

Subscriptions & Payments

Soothe offers optional paid subscriptions through Apple’s in-app purchase system.

  • Payment information (such as credit card details) is not collected or stored by Soothe.

  • All payments and subscription management are handled directly by Apple through your Apple ID.

  • Soothe may receive anonymous subscription status information (such as whether a subscription is active) solely to unlock premium features.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of data associated with your user account. Certain data may be retained where required for operational purposes, including support correspondence, aggregated analytics, and crash logs.

3rd-party services used

  • Firebase (Privacy Policy): Used to enable networked interactions in the app, including Cloud Firestore and Authentication. Analytics features are disabled wherever possible.

  • Sentry (Privacy Policy): Used to investigate app crashes and errors. Privacy features such as data scrubbing and IP anonymization are enabled.

  • Simple Analytics (Privacy Policy, What’s collected): Used to understand basic website usage. It does not track individuals and does not store personally identifiable information.
